Kylie Lip Kit Review

We all want to look like Kylie. Lets Face it. Love or hate her you cannot deny the desire to be able to want to look like her. You can put her in a paper bag and she will own it, even more so she’ll look hot in it. So when she announced the launch of her new lip kits, the whole word went into a frenzy. If there’s one thing we all wanted to know about Kylie, it was always what lip colour she was rocking. And now we could have the exact colours she was wearing, like literally, the exact shades – of course we all had to get out hands on them! Fortunately I was able to get my hands on 4 shades during her second restock Candy K, Koko K, Dolce K and Exposed – I can’t even tell you how excited I was for them to arrive, I didn’t leave my house for a week waiting for the mailman to deliver me my goods haha. Shipping was pretty quick, I received them in about a week! Basically, I ripped open the box and swatched each shade immediately. Such beautiful shades I could not wait to wear them. Only when I did finally get to wear them, I was left so disappointed.

The shades themselves were beautiful Candy K was probably my favourite out of the 4. The lip liners were beautiful, applied so smooth, are very creamy and they last a good amount of time. Unfortunately the same could not be said about the liquid lipsticks. Candy K was the first shade I decided to wear out. Within the first 10 minutes of me wearing it the product dried out and began to crack. Throughout the day it would just crack even more and started to flake off, every 5 minutes I was wiping liquid lipstick off my teeth – and I have Invisalign, let me tell you that ish is not easy to get off them! I was so surprised with the result, as my lips were hydrated I had applied a small amount of lip balm prior (which usually does the trick) but no matter what I tried this was the end result with every single one of them.

I was pretty happy with most of the shades when I swatched them, but when I applied them to my lips a couple of them were a lot different to what I expected. Exposed is described as ‘the perfect

nude’ but looked just plain orange on me. it was definitely far from nude. Dolce K is a lot darker to what I thought it would be, which isn’t too much of an issue as the shade is still wearable, it’s just a lot more brown than expected. But Candy K and Koko K were exactly as I expected, such beautiful shades.

These Lip Kits also come at a pretty steep price range for what they are. Going for $29USD a set (which is around $40AUD ). Personally, it’s a lot to pay for a product of this quality, no hate just a  personal opinion. At the end of the day there are so many liquid lipstick brands out there which are amazing, some personal favourites I’d recommend are: Gerard Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Mellow Cosmetics, Ophra Cosmetics, Black Moon Cosmetics – I could name countless more, if you’d like to see a post on my favourite liquid lipstick brands leave a comment below!

Have you tried Kylie’s Lip Kit? What are your thoughts on them? Let me know in the comments!
