Bridal Photo shoot Makeup Breakdown Pt 1

IMG_4775

This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of working on an awesome photo shoot for a project my friend Kristina (@kykhair on the gram) is working on. She is creating an educational hairstyling book & I had the pleasure of working on the bridal portion of the book.

Now talking bridal makeup, I love playing with all different styles. Most of my bridal clients request heavy, glamorous eyes (as that is what I’m known for) but some will request a much softer look (will be shown in my next post). The first look I created on my model Katerina, was quite simple. Simple winged liner, subtle smoked shadow, full lashes, and bare lower lash line, with of course, a flawless base. I later transitioned this into one of my signature looks, a catty arabic eye. Here is a full product breakdown:

For the first look I first prepped the skin with the Embroylisse Lait Creme & also applied the Kielh’s Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum underneath & around her eyes. I almost always do the eyes first, for this I used MakeupGek Eyesahdows Peach Smoothie, Cocoa Bear, Bada Bing & Corrupt,  M.A.C Naked Pigment on the lid, Make Up For Ever Aqua Black Gel Liner. Lashes used were Moderock Lashes Miss Chicago double layered lashes. For the Face I used Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation mixed with Camouflage Cosmetics foundation, Kryolan Dermacolor Concealer, Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer, Set with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder (also used to ‘Bake’), Bobbi Brown Foundation stick ‘Almond’, M.A.C Studio Careblend powder ‘Medium deep’ for bronzer, Warm Soul Blush, Soft and Gentle Highlighter. Lips were M.A.C Spice Lipliner, Honeylove Lipstick & Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Bardot Beige.

For the second look I didn’t have to change too much, I pretty much kept the face the same but changed up the eyes and lips. For the eyes I used my Tom Ford Cognac Sable palette, mixed the dark brown & copper shades and applied to the lid. I applied Makeup Geek’s Immortal Gel liner in the water line & around the eyes, bringing it to a point in the inner corner ( I did this using an angled brush). I then added Makeup Geek corrupt to smoke out the lower lash line & also used a bit of Cocoa Bear to blend it out. Lips were YSL Creme Blush #2 & Sephora Lip stain 02 Peach Tart.

  1. I have a problem with flashback from Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder and other translucent powders on some cameras with flash. How can I avoid this?
Love your work and your instagram page by the way 🙂
